Piano and Chocolate...but not at the same time!

I know that my mom and dad are getting really tired of looking at my blog and seeing all this scrapping stuff. They're {patiently} waiting to see photos of their granddaughters!

Emily had her first piano recital on June 20th. She was a little nervous walking onto the stage to announce her piece (she needed a little support from mommy), but once she got situated at the piano and started playing, she was fabulous...perfect rhythm and not a note missed! She is a performer at heart and this was a dream come true for her.

All papers and elements used in this layout are from my "Make a Wish" kit available at Digiridoo Scraps.

We started our Independence Day weekend celebration on July 3rd with a party at our friend's home. We played in the pool all afternoon, had wonderful (and a ridiculous amount of) food and then, watched the fireworks from a great location in the town's central square. The highlight for the girls was the chocolate covered brownies that Ms. Karen unveiled after dinner! Seriously...chocolate covered brownies! The girls had chocolate from ear to ear and all over their hands...no surprise since it was 102 outside! These are the only photos that I have of the weekend because my camera was on my desk at home so I had to use Chuck's Blackberry. Ugh!

All papers and elements used in this layout are from my "Born to be Dirty" kit available at Digiridoo Scraps.

Make a Wish

I have a new kit in the Digiridoo Scraps store! I hope to scrap with it this week...just not enough time with trying to get the kit done and Independence Day weekend activities!

The 20 papers in the kit...not sold seperately.
It's listed at $4.00 in the store, but I think that I'm going to mark it down 25% for the rest of this week...that makes it just $3 for 20 papers and 34 elements! Grab it HERE!

A New Kit...and a Freebie

I have finished my most favorite kit to date and it's in the Digiridoo store HERE! It was something totally different for me and I had so much fun getting down and dirty for this kit!
Actually, it's been in the store for a week and I forgot to post about it here...oops! To make up for being a bad blogger, I'm extending the 30% off on the kit through Wednesday, July 1st (how in the world is it July already?) and I'm giving you this freebie, which works well with the Born to be Dirty kit as well as my It's a Date #1 pack.

A "Mia-ism"

The back story...Emily had two teeth pulled yesterday. Her lower front permanent teeth have started to grow in behind her baby teeth. She had the middle two pulled about 6 months ago. The next two out from the center recently started to do the same thing, so we went to see our favorite dentist to have the stubborn baby teeth pulled. She was a real trooper and all is well. {No photos...for some reason, I took my little camera out of my handbag.}

Last night the tooth fairy left $2 for Emily's two teeth. She busted downstairs this morning to show me the two one dollar bills. Mia was standing there pouting because she hasn't lost any teeth yet, so the tooth fairy hasn't left any money for her. Here's the conversation...

Me: Don't worry Mia, your teeth are going to start to come out when you're a little older. By that time, Emily will have lost all her teeth.

Mia: You mean that Emily will have to just swallow without any teeth to chew?

Me: [trying not to laugh at her] She'll have teeth. Remember the adult teeth that need the adult toothpaste are growing in to fill the hole where the baby teeth were.

She started cracking up and said, "Oh yea, I remember now!"

And, then just to make my heart swell even more with love for my girlies, Emily hands Mia a dollar and says, "You can have this one."

We went shopping at the dollar store today.

Here's a cute photo that I took of them in the car the other day...

Whew!

Saturday night was the first night in 45 days that it was just the four (five, including the dog) of us sleeping under our roof. We have had an action packed month and a half! I've had little time to scrap or design, but I stayed up past midnight two nights in a row to scrap just a few of the hundreds of photos that I have. Here you go...

May 8, 2009...After just four months in the dance studio, it was time for your first recital. It was the reason you chose dance over gymnastics...you wanted to perform! You were so thrilled with the costumes as well as the whole hair and make up process. You worked so hard in the studio and our kitchen practicing your two routines. We couldn’t have been more proud of you.

We didn’t know what to expect when we learned that the 2009 Achievers Club trip was to Costa Rica, but we couldn’t have dreamed of a more beautiful location. We loved the luxurious Four Seasons Hotel where we were pampered, surrounded by beautiful scenery and stuffed with incredible food. We spent most of our time lounging by the pool and enjoying the company of the other sales achievers and spouses. It was a wonderful experience!

Mia...I love to watch you swing. You love to soar as high as possible...you usually make up songs to accompany your swinging...you totally lose yourself in the moment and nothing else is important when you are swinging. May ‘09

I can't believe how much Emily has grown her Kindergarten year! And, now she's a first grader...she was over being a Kindergartener as soon as the last bell of the year rang!

Happy Father's Day!

So much to get caught up on...scrapping, designing, blogging, email replies, cleaning, laundry, etc. Notice how all the fun stuff comes first on my list! More from me and my action packed month and a half soon...I just had to get this posted for my Daddy (who is better known as Pop Pop these days)!

Everything used for this layout is from the Spice of Life kit...the mega collab from Digiridoo Scraps that you can still get for free through June 30th when you spend just $10 in the store. They probably think I fell off the face of the earth over there...I'm working on a few new kits so you'll see more from me in the store soon!
